To commemorate the Feast of All Saints and All Souls, classes celebrated a Liturgy in their classrooms today. Today we are reminded that we can all be saints. God encourages us to be like the saints every day by following Jesus’ commandment of ‘love another, as I have loved you’. Tomorrow is the feast of All Souls. Death is not the end but the beginning of new life- with God. Take some time especially tomorrow to remember those that have passed. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Sacred Heart socking it to poverty by raising funds to support Catholic Mission. Thank you to our families for their support in the Silly Sock Day fundraiser. As a community we were able to raise $581!!! What a fabulous effort! These much needed funds will go to support the Church in Mongolia. Celebrating International Teachers’ Day Thank you to our amazing teachers and for all that you do for our students. You make Sacred Heart a wonderful place! We pray, God of Love, thank you for every teacher who notices a child special gift. Thank you for teachers who are listeners and gentle guides. Thank you for teachers who expect much and love enough to demand more. Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers. God of Mercy, sustain teaches who give everything they have. Help exhausted teachers rest. God of Strength, encourage teachers to care and inspire them to nourish. Motivate teachers to keep on learning for the fun of it and to make learning enjoyable for children. We wonder at teachers who know how to quiet a class of five-year-olds or help fourth graders be empathetic. We admire teachers who enjoy middle school writers or teach maths or history. Bless the people who are expected to accomplish these miracles and who know how to comfort children when miracles don’t happen. God of Justice, help and support teaches in their special calling, where they teach and whatever obstacles they must face. We pray these things in the name of our great teacher, Jesus Christ. Amen.
