Exciting Maths Moments in Year 2! Our clever Year 2 students have been warming up their Maths brains with a brand-new 1-minute challenge! Using a die and counters, students roll, collect, and count as quickly as they can—then the real thinking begins! With counters in hand, they arrange them into equal groups or arrays, helping them look, think and know the total. But the challenge doesn’t stop there! They explore their place value knowledge by adding or subtracting 1, 10, 100—and even 1000! It’s wonderful to see their confidence grow as they play, explore and deepen their understanding of numbers. A joyful reminder that learning through play is powerful!!!

Year 6 students have been diving into the world of fractions and decimals with the help of the Decimat matching — and what a hit it's been! The classroom has been buzzing with excitement (and a lot of number talk!) as they worked in teams to match the cards. Who knew learning decimals could be this much fun? Turns out, team work does make the dream work and goes a long way in building decimal confidence!

In our Kindergarten classroom, we introduced the concept of human dignity by reading Genesis 1:27: “God created mankind in his own image.” This verse teaches that every person has unique worth and should be treated with kindness and respect. Through storytelling, class discussions, writing, and drawing, students explored the idea that we are all part of God’s family and deserve fair and respectful treatment. These varied activities helped students develop empathy and a deeper understanding of human dignity.

Year 1 explored the concept of area in fun, hands-on ways! Students used sticky notes, tiles, and everyday classroom objects to measure and compare space. It’s a fantastic way to build math skills through play, creativity, and discovery.

Year 1 Faith Page Learning About Compassion 🌟 This week in Religion, Year 1 students have been exploring the beautiful Mercy Value of Compassion. They have learnt that God wants us to be compassionate and kind, just like Jesus. 🕊️ Exploring Scripture We reflected on a simple but powerful verse from the letters of Saint Paul: “God loves you very much, so be kind, gentle, and patient with others.” Together, we discussed: Who is God talking to? (Us!) What does God want us to do? (Be kind, gentle, patient.) Our students also learned what it means to “clothe yourself with compassion.” We used a fun analogy: Just like we put on our school uniform each day, we also put on our “kind hearts” and “helping hands” to live like Jesus. ✨ Bringing Compassion to Life To make this message more meaningful: We used our imaginations to pretend we were putting on “compassion coats” and “kindness scarves.” We talked about how we can show compassion at school, at home, and with our friends. Each child created a Compassion Heart—a drawing or message showing how they can show kindness. We are so proud of our Year 1 students as they grow in faith, kindness, and understanding of what it means to live compassionately, just like Jesus.

Kindergarten Faith page Over the past few weeks, we started our learning cycle 2 who is my neighbour by defining “neighbour”. Our discussion focused on the diverse people–different ages, ethnicities and abilities to emphasise inclusiveness. We further explored this term by linking the definition of “community”, which helped children to extend what they have known: A neighbour is anyone who lives near us, it is part of our community. The Good Samaritan Story emphasise on kindness–be kind to people who are in need. Having children draw pictures of people they consider their neighbour helped them personalise the concept.
